The Stroop Color and Word Test was designed to differentiate between individuals who are non-brain damaged and individuals with brain damage. This brief five minute test is applicable for those between the ages of 15 and 90. This test remains a standard measure in neuropsychological assessment. It assesses cognitive processing and provides valuable diagnostic information on brain dysfunction, cognition, and psychopathology.
The Stroop Color and Word Test is based on the observation that individuals can read words much faster than they can identify and name colors. Whether the test is used as a screener or as part of a general battery, its quick and easy administration, validity, and reliability make it a highly useful instrument.

Assessment Reports provide detailed information about scores from a single administration, presented both numerically and graphically. An individual's scores are compared to those in the normative sample and elevations at the scale and subscale level are indicated.
Interpretive Reports provide detailed information about scores from a single administration, presented both numerically and graphically. An individual's scores are compared to those in the normative sample and elevations at the scale and subscale level are indicated.
Profile Reports summarize the results of an individual administration, providing scores for all scales.
Progress Reports compare the results of two to four administrations for the same individual to measure changes over time. These reports are ideal to use when monitoring treatment and intervention effectiveness.
Comparative Reports combine the results of different raters to provide an overview of an individual's scores from a multi-rater perspective. This highlights potentially important inter-rater differences in scores.
Progress Monitoring and Treatment Effectiveness Reports combine results from up to four ratings over time by the same rater.
Comparative Reports show progress over time, comparing up to four assessments for the same offender. They are free with the purchase of Profile Reports.
Case Management Reports provide an administrative summary of the criminogenic and noncriminogenic needs of the offender. They also list special responsivity considerations and include a discharge summary where applicable. This summary describes the off ender’s treatment progress status at the time of discharge, and recommendations for the future. They are free with the purchase of Profile Reports.
Follow-Up Reports are used to document major events for the offender such as reoffending or successful completion of treatment/supervision.
Group Reports summarize classification information for a group of offenders to help you make institutional or program decisions. They are free with the purchase of Profile Reports.
Summary Reports provide an immediate view of key JIFF results such as risk behaviors, mental health concerns, and the extent of a youth’s needs across the 10 domains.
Service Plans suggest goals for the youth. Staff select the goals they would like included in the service plan and assign services and interventions.
Comprehensive Reports provide scores for each scale in a graphical and numerical format, along with narrative text to aid in the interpretation process.
Follow-Up Reports provide an opportunity to track officers’ conduct since their critical M-PULSE Inventory assessments were completed.
The Stroop Color and Word Test consists of a Word Page with color words printed in black ink, a Color Page with 'Xs' printed in color, and a color-Word Page with words from the first page printed in colors from the second page (the color and the word do not match). The respondent goes down each sheet reading words or naming the ink colors as quickly as possible within a time limit. The test yields three scores based on the number of items completed on each of the three stimulus sheets. An Interference score, which is useful in determining the individual's cognitive flexibility, creativity, and reaction to cognitive pressures also can be calculated. A stopwatch is required to administer each test.
