Administration and Resource Guide:
This guide includes an overview of the instrument; detailed administrative procedures; guidelines for completing each of the forms used in the TPI-2; suggestions for interpreting and using the results of the TPI-2; and an extensive case study showing how to move from assessment to planning and action. The guide also includes a detailed description of how the instrument was developed and information about the technical features of the TPI-2. The guide also contains five appendices: three sets of item descriptions for each of the rating scales; strategies for administering the student and home rating forms; and a comprehensive matrix for that links the rating scale items to other more detailed assessments that are part of the TPI-2.
Forms:
The TPI contains six basic forms. New to the TPI-2 are two student interests and preferences forms. The first form is used at the beginning of the transition planning process and the other form is used closer to the time when the student is leaving school. In addition, the TPI-2 maintains the three key rating forms (student, school, home). The kit also contains a Profile and Further Recommendations Form that provides a way to display the results obtained from the individual rating forms and plan any further assessments that might be needed. The student, home, and school rating forms now have 57 items; the Student Rating Form and Home Rating Form are written at a lower readability level than the School Rating Form.
Informal Assessments for Transition Planning–Second Edition:
This resource contains more 818 sub-competencies for the 57 TPI-2 items. The resource also contains 52 informal instruments (with directions on how to use the instrument) that are related to the 57 TPI-2 items. The purpose of the book is to provide a way to confirm transition preferences, interests, strengths, and needs to enhance transition planning.
Resource CD:
The TPI-2 now includes a CD that contains seven additional resources that are useful for transition planning. The resources are: scripts for administering the TPI-2; additional case studies; a reference guide for linking TPI-2 items to services in the community; translations of the Home Rating Form; translations of the item descriptions for the Home Rating Form; Home Preferences and Interests Form; and an updated Modified Form for Students with Significant Support Needs.
Transition Planning Inventory–Second Edition: Computer Version (TPI-2-CV):
An electronic alternative to the TPI-2. The 57 items, clustered by 11 transition-planning areas, are presented on screen, one at a time.
The Resource CD and TPI-2-CV both include 7 additional resources, useful for transition planning:
