Reports

The CSI 2 Individual Report provides personalized insights into an individual’s preferred approach to change. It outlines the strength of their change style preference—Conserver, Pragmatist, or Originator—and includes typical behaviors, potential pitfalls, and strategies to improve flexibility towards other styles. This detailed feedback helps talent development professionals tailor debriefs and coaching, fostering smoother transitions and higher change adoption. It empowers individuals and teams to collaborate more effectively during change, enhancing overall organizational performance.

Reliability, Validity and Fairness

Reliability
The CSI 2 demonstrates strong evidence of reliability. Results support that test items cohesively and reliably measure change style preferences (α = .81; strong internal consistency) and that CSI 2 scores are stable and consistent over both shorter (rc = .80; 1- to 2-week interval) and longer (rc = .75; 13- to 15-week interval) periods of time. Users of the CSI 2 can be confident that the scores generated by this assessment will be consistent and reliable.

Validity
Results of validity analysis demonstrate that the CSI 2 corresponds well with the original CSI

(rc = .94), which supports its ability to measure an individual’s preferred approach to change. Evidence also shows that the CSI 2 is a unique measure of change style preference that does not share conceptual overlap with other behaviors or traits (i.e., emotional intelligence, hardiness, or psychological flexibility; median rc = .07). Users of the CSI 2 can be confident in its validity as a measure of change style preference.

Fairness
The revised content in the CSI 2 ensures cultural sensitivity and relevance and the CSI 2 item and report content has undergone a thorough cultural review. By avoiding language or assumptions favoring one group over another, the assessment remains broadly applicable and respectful of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The CSI 2 has been tested across various demographic groups, including world regions, genders, and U.S. racial/ethnic groups. Importantly, no meaningful differences were found, indicating that scores are unbiased and can yield fair assessment results. Whether you’re leading a multinational team or a local community group, the insights provided by the CSI 2 can enhance change management strategies for everyone.
